The Commonwealth Gallery

The Commonwealth Gallery was initially funded with an MCC Inspiring Innovation Mini Grant with the aim of promoting entrepreneurship in the arts at Metropolitan Community College. Founded in 2013, the space provides students with hands-on experience exhibiting and marketing their creative work

The goal of the Commonwealth Gallery is to provide MCC students and alumni with professional experience presenting and selling their art. Participants curate, hang and promote each exhibition. The gallery is located in the Elkhorn Valley Commons and currently consists of a twenty foot long picture rail and large lighted display case.

The gallery features between six and eight exhibitions per year. MCC students and alumni have earned more than $2000 in art sales. A percentage of proceeds from gallery sales goes back to support the gallery.
